About
Chloe

Hello there! I'm Chloe Burgett, a children's book illustrator living in Lincoln, NE.

I've taught art lessons to youth and adults alike since I graduated college with an Illustration degree in 2015. Workshops in lettering, printmaking, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, landscape painting, portraiture, still life drawing, screenprinting, digital art, and more.

I taught at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art for four years, and I've mentored students in art through LPS for 3 years.

I tailor each lesson to the student's interest and ability, because I believe the most important thing when you're learning a new skill is to have fun and find joy. That joy will carry you through the times where you're having trouble, doubts, or not liking your art.

Homework: draw 3 geometric shapes inside your house!

Drawing realistic organic shapes using shading to communicate form

Homework: go out in nature and find 3 organic shapes to draw. Add shading!

Create environments for your drawings! Look at reference photographs of landscapes and/or interior environments
